Amazon announced at the TCA today the remainder of their cast, with Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers and Daniel Weyman set to join the cast of Amazon’s upcoming epic fantasy series adaptation of The Lord Of The Rings.
The synopsis for the upcoming series, tweeted by the official twitter page for the series (along with a map) is as follows:
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. Welcome to the Second Age.
In the Tolkien mythology, the Second Age was the time in which the Rings of Power, including Sauron’s One Ring, came into existence.
Amazon Co-head of TV Vernon Sander, spoke at the TCA today and stated that “We still have a few key roles to cast” for the series.
Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, had this to say before film commences next month in New Zealand:
