Deadline is exclusively reporting that Orlando Jones has signed up for a recurring role for the second season of Spectrum’s Bad Boys spinoff series L.A’s Finest.
The series focuses on the free-spirited former DEA Agent Syd Burnett making a fresh start in her new job as an LAPD Detective. She’s partnered with Nancy McKenna, a working mother who can’t help but look at Syd’s freeform with some grass-is-greener envy. These two have totally different lifestyles and approaches, but they’re both at the top of their fields in this action-packed, character-driven procedural.
The second season finds Syd and McKenna forced to rely on each other more than ever before in both their personal and professional lives as they take on a new and deadly adversary threatening to unleash chaos on the streets of Los Angeles.
The report states that Orlando Jones (whose credits include American Gods and The Good Lord Bird) will be playing the role of Marshawn Davis, a veteran of the LAPD’s Internal Affairs Division who is brought in to question Syd Burnett after an investigation turns deadly. Equal parts integrity and determination, Davis quickly suspects Syd and the truth have a complicated relationship which puts her squarely in his crosshairs.
The first season of L.A’s Finest starred Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Ernie Hudson, Zach Gilford, Daune Martin, Ryan McPartlin, Zach McGowan, Barry Sloane, Sophie Reynolds, David Fumero, Jordan Rodrigues, Rebecca Budig, Tamala Jones, Ciara Riley Wilson, Sabina Gadecki, John Salley and Jake Busey.
