Deadline is exclusively reporting that Karen Obilom has signed up for a recurring role for the upcoming second season of DC Universe series Doom Patrol.
The series is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved groups of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl, Crazy Jane and Cyborg, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder aka The Chief. The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatised and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them.
The report states that Karen Obilom (whose credits include Games People Play and Insecure) will be playing the role of Roni Evers, a military veteran with a mysterious past who Vic Stone/Cyborg meets while attending a PTSD support group.
The first season of Doom Patrol starred April Bowlby, Diane Guerrero, Jovian Wade, Brendan Fraser, Riley Shanahan, Alan Tudyk, Timothy Dalton and Matt Bomer.
