The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Zach Baylin has been brought on board to write the script for the third film in the boxing franchise Creed at MGM.
The Creed franchise, spinoff of the Rocky franchise, has had audiences following the journey of Adonis Creed, son of Apollo, to follow in his fathers footsteps and become the WBC World Heavyweight Championship, with Rocky Balboa acting as his mentor.
There’s no outline as to what the premise of the film could be, nor is there a director attached. It’s unclear even as to when MGM plan to begin production, as Michael B. Jordan’s schedule for the next while is busy, between filming on Without Remorse and starring in David O. Russell’s next film.
The first Creed film, released in 2015, made $173m worldwide, while the sequel, released in 2018, made over $214m worldwide.
