Variety is reporting that Florence Pugh, Shia LaBeouf and Chris Pine are set to star in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming psychological thriller feature Don’t Worry Darling.
Whilst the plot is unknown, the film is set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950’s California desert.
The film was acquired by New Line Cinema after a heated bidding war due to the acclaim of Wilde’s directorial feature debut Booksmart. Wilde will also be serving as producer on the film, as well as have a key supporting role in the film, though according to Variety’s sources it’s Florence Pugh that will be the main lead.
Katie Silberman will be rewriting the original script that was penned by Shane and Carey Van Dyke. The Van Dyke’s will now serve as executive producers on the film alongside Catherine Hardwicke. Silberman will also serve as producer alongside Wilde, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment. Daria Cercek and Celia Khong will oversee the project for New Line.
