Deadline is exclusively reporting that Daisy Ridley is in negotiations with in psychological crime-thriller The Ice Beneath Her.
The feature is an adaptation of Camilla Grebe’s 2015 bestselling novel of the same name, which has an unreliable narrator that’s similar in tone to Gone Girl and The Girl On The Train. The story revolves around a detective and psychological profiler who work to solve the case after a young woman is found beheaded in the home of a prominent businessman. The investigation quickly evolves into a race against time.
STX acquired the world rights for the film and will finance the project, with Andrew Lazar serving as producer on the project and filmmaking trio Radio Silence attached to direct. Caitlin Parrish is set to adapt the book. Drew Simon, Kevin Sauer and Sam Brown will oversee the project for STX.
