The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Blake Lively looks set to star and Shawn Levy set to produce the post-apocalyptic thriller Dark Days At The Magna Carta, which was just recently picked up by Netflix.
Details about the story are being kept under wraps, though it’s described as being a character driven thriller set against a catastrophic event and focuses on a woman going to extreme lengths to save her family. The report makes a point of stating that the story is not related to a contagion, but a world-altering event is a key foil and themes of isolation and strength of family emerge.
The report states that for Blake Lively, the project could be seen as a potential franchise to call her own as the story, conceptualised by rising screenwriter Michael Paisley late last year, is being envisioned as a trilogy.
Levy will be serving as producer on the project with partner Dan Cohen under the 21 Laps banner and Blake Lively will produce alongside Kate Vorhoff under their B For Effort banner.
