Deadline is reporting that CBS have given a series order to the reimagining of The Equalizer with Queen Latifah as the lead, whilst also adding Chris Noth to the cast.
The reimagining series will have us following Robyn (Queen Latifah), an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn.
Chris Noth (whose credits include Sex and the City and The Good Wife) will be playing the role of William Bishop, a quirky ex-CIA director who was Robyn’s first handler and has a father-daughter relationship with her.
The series will be executive produced by Dana Owens, John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Richard Lindheim (co-creator of the original Equalizer television series), Shakim Compere and Liz Friedlander.
The Equalizer will also star Lorraine Toussaint, Tory Kittles, Liza Lapira and Laya DeLeon Hayes.
