Superman: Henry Cavill In Talks To Return For Future DC Film

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Henry Cavill is in negotiations with Warner Bros. to reprise the role of Superman in the DC Film Universe.

The report states that Warner Bros. is not developing a Man of Steel sequel, but sources with knowledge tell them that there are plans in motion to bring Cavill back in the red cape and that could happen in a couple of different ways.

From the sounds of it, considering that production is yet to commence on both Shazam 2 and Black Adam once the COVID-19 safety restrictions lift, is that he could either appear in both of those films or at least one. Superman (but not Henry Cavill) cameoed at the end of Shazam, so it would seem plausible he’d appear there, then again I’m curious as to how they’re going to tackle the Black Adam film with Dwayne Johnson.

Henry Cavill first played Clark Kent aka Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel, then appeared in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and last played the role in 2017’s Justice League.
