Deadline is reporting that Cobra Kai will officially be moving from YouTube to Netflix ahead of its upcoming third season release.
Cobra Kai is set thirty-four years after the events of the original film which concluded in Daniel LaRusso defeating Johnny Lawrence in the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, we get a look in the daily lives of Johnny and Daniel. The first season saw Johnny Lawrence reopen the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo, mentor young neighbour Miguel and reignite his rivalry with Daniel LaRusso. The second season sees Daniel open up Miyagi-Do Karate, creating a dojo not to show how to be a badass like Cobra Kai, but by showing others that there is a better way…balance. The rivalry between Johnny and Daniel now extends to their students, as Cobra Kai vs Miyagi-Do rivalry begins and leads down a course that could change their paths forever.
As well as obtaining the rights for the third season, under the terms of the agreement with YouTube, Netflix will have access to the first two seasons later in the year.
