Hamilton: Official Trailer For Disney+ Released Online

Disney+ have released the official trailer for the upcoming film version of the Tony-award winning Broadway musical Hamilton.

The official synopsis for the musical is as follows:

An unforgettable cinematic stage performance, the filmed version of the original Broadway production of Hamilton combines the best elements of live theatre, film and streaming to bring the cultural phenomenon to homes around the world for a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hamilton is the story of America then, told by America now. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, Hamilton has taken the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton and created a revolutionary moment in theatre—a musical that has had a profound impact on culture, politics, and education.

I’m looking forward to seeing Hamilton in some capacity, even if it isn’t seeing it in person (between it being too expensive to see it during my visits to New York and then I was to see it at the West End in London this year but the COVID-19 pandemic happened) on the Disney+ service.

The music, lyrics and book are written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who adapted from Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography about founding father Alexander Hamilton, with the musical directed by Thomas Kail. Also starring in the musical are Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs, Okieriete Onaodowan, Phillipa Soo, Anthony Ramos, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Renée Elise Goldsberry.

Hamilton will be available on the streaming service from the 3rd July 2020.
