Alice: Sinqua Walls Joins Cast For Historical Thriller

Deadline is reporting that Sinqua Walls is the latest name to join the cast of historical thriller Alice.

Alice will be a character-driven thriller inspired by the true events of a woman of servitude in 1800’s Georgia, who escapes the 55 acre confines of her captor to discover the shocking reality that exists beyond the tree line…it’s 1973.

The report states that Sinqua Walls (whose credits include Power and American Soul) will be playing the role of Joseph, a slave and Alice’s husband who live on Master Paul Bennet’s plantation as they plot their escape to freedom after jumping the broom.

The film is being written and directed by Krysten Ver Linden, marking her directorial debut. The project is also set to be executive produced by Jose Agustin Valdes and Luisa Fernanda Espinosa of Steel Springs Pictures, with filming set to commence in Georgia sometime in August of this year.

Sinqua Walls will star alongside Keke Palmer, Common and Jonny Lee Miller.
