During a streaming event with the cast of The Boys through Amazon Prime Video, hosted by Patton Oswalt, it was announced that the second season will premiere the first three episodes on the 4th September 2020, then proceed to release the rest of the episodes on a weekly basis.
The synopsis for the second season is as follows:
The new season will find The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie and Kimiko try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander sets his sights on taking complete control. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes centre stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalise on the nation’s paranoia.
