Collider is exclusively reporting that whilst interviewing The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke about the series, he did confirm that he has had discussions with Jeffrey Dean Morgan about having him appear in the third season of the Amazon series.
The synopsis for the second season is as follows:
The new season will find The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie and Kimiko try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront, a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes centre stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalise on the nation’s paranoia.
When asked about whether Jeffrey Dean Morgan would join the cast in the future, Kripke answered:
I absolutely have. There’s one role we’re already talking about. He has to, uh, we have to like coordinate. Because you know, he’s on The Walking Dead, so he has another home. But we already talked about one role, and there might be a potential other that we’re talking about. But we are, just this past week we were literally texting back and forth about trying to figure out how to get him on the show. I don’t think it’s a done deal yet, but the will is there, and we’re both talking about it.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan earlier in the year stated on twitter that he would love to have a part in the series and Kripke responded in kind positively and it seems the two are trying to make an appearance work, it’s just a question of how long they can get him for and that it doesn’t conflict with other projects. I would love for Jeffrey Dean Morgan to bounce off the likes of Karl Urban and Antony Starr on the show.
The main cast of the second season includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Aya Cash, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford and Nathan Mitchell.
The second season of The Boys will premiere on Amazon Prime on the 4th September 2020.
