SyFy have released the teaser trailer for the upcoming Child’s Play television series Chucky.
The official synopsis for the series is as follows:
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies — and allies — from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.
The series is being developed by original Child’s Play creator Don Mancini, who will also serve as showrunner and direct the pilot, as the series will be a continuation of the original film series rather than the 2019 reboot. It’s also been reported that Brad Dourif will be returning to voice the murderous doll. The series will be executive produced by Mancini, David Kirschner, Nick Antosca and Harley Peyton.
Originally due to be released later this year, the series has been pushed back to 2021 due to production shut-down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
