Without Remorse: Amazon In Final Talks To Acquire Tom Clancy Thriller Starring Michael B. Jordan From Paramount

Variety is exclusively reporting that Amazon Studios are in final negotiations with Paramount Pictures to acquire the worldwide rights of the Tom Clancy thriller Without Remorse starring Michael B. Jordan.

The report states that in the film we find John Clark going down a path of vengeance to solve his wife’s murder only to find himself inside of a larger conspiracy.

The character of ex-U.S Navy SEAL turned operations officer for the CIA John Clark, has appeared in seventeen novels since 1988, serving mostly as a secondary character who helps CIA analyst Jack Ryan with more of the physical elements of the missions they’re involved in, until Clark came into the spotlight in the novel Without Remorse, which tells the backstory of how he came to work for the CIA. Clark was also the main focus of Rainbow Six, which followed his new task force and its mission to protect the world from its greatest terrorist threats. On the big screen, Clark has been played by Willem Dafoe (Clear and Present Danger) and Liev Schreiber (The Sum of All Fears).

If the deal is sealed, it will be an interesting acquisition by Amazon, considering that they’re no stranger to having a Tom Clancy property as they have the Jack Ryan series with John Krasinski as the titular CIA analyst, you wonder are the streaming service looking to expand their Tom Clancy universe?

The film is directed by Stefano Sollima, with the recent screenplay written by Taylor Sheridan, and also stars Jamie Bell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Luke Mitchell, Jack Kesy, Brett Gelman, Colman Domingo, Jacob Scipio, Cam Gigandet and Todd Lasance.
