Disney have released the latest trailer for the live-action adaptation of Mulan.
Disney’s retelling of an old Chinese folktale focusing on a young Chinese maiden who learns that her weak father is called up into the army in order to fight the invading Huns. Knowing that he’ll not survive war in his condition, she decides to disguise herself as a man and take his place.
The film was originally intended to be released in cinemas on the 27th March 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. While the film is being pushed for cinematic release internationally (e.g. China and UK/Ireland), Disney have decided to put it onto Disney+ in the U.S, with an added $29.99 fee to make it a short-term ownership of the film.
Mulan will become available to Disney+ subscribers with premium access on the 4th September 2020 in the U.S, while the film will be released cinematically elsewhere in open markets.
