Batwoman: Shivaani Ghai Lands Recurring Role For Season 2

Exclusively reported by FandomWire a few days ago, TVLine and other media outlets are confirming that Shivaani Ghai has signed up for a recurring role for the upcoming second season of DC drama series Batwoman at CW.

The first season focused on Kate Kane, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet…in a city desperate for a saviour, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

Shivaani Ghai (whose credits include Dominion and London Has Fallen) will be playing the role of Safiyah, the fiercely protective ruler of a small community on the island of Coryana. A woman with as many enemies as aliases, she is compassionate and charismatic with both physical and psychological prowess. She is beloved by her people and will stop at nothing to protect what’s hers. No one goes unnoticed by Safiyah, specifically when it comes to those who have encountered the Desert Rose.

Shivaani Ghai will join a cast that includes the new Batwoman Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott, Christina Wolfe and Warren Christie.
