CBS All Access have released the official trailer for the upcoming limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.
The Stand is an apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by a plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the one-hundred-and-eight-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors, including Stuart Redman and their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers….the Dark man aka Randall Flagg.
The novel is adapted by Josh Boone and Ben Cavell, with Boone directing the first and last episodes, and Cavell serving as showrunner. Both serve as executive producers alongside Taylor Elmore, Will Weiske, Jimmy Miller, Roy Lee and Richard P. Rubinstein. Jake Braver, Jill Killington, Owen King, Knate Lee and Stephen Welke serve as producers.
The Stand stars James Marsden, Alexander Skarsgård, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Whoopi Goldberg, Henry Zaga, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke, Daniel Sunjata, Nat Wolff, Greg Kinnear, Heather Graham, Eion Bailey, Katherine McNamara, Hamish Linklater and Natalie Martinez.
The Stand will premiere on CBS All Access on the 17th December 2020.
