Universe’s Most Wanted: Dave Bautista To Star In Sci-Fi Fantasy Film, Brad Peyton To Direct

Deadline is reporting that Dave Bautista has signed up to produce and star in big-budget sci-fi fantasy film Universe’s Most Wanted, with Brad Peyton also set to produce and direct.

The film will focus on a small town which gets a big surprise when a spaceship carrying the universe’s most wanted and dangerous criminals crash lands in their backyard. Soon the sheriff’s son becomes a hero when he finds himself helping an intergalactic peacekeeper to keep the ragtag group of alien prisoners from escaping and taking over the world.

Dave Bautista (whose credits include Guardians of the Galaxy and My Spy) will be playing the role of the intergalactic peacekeeper.

Director Brad Peyton released a statement saying:

Jeff and I are incredibly excited to be teaming up with Dave, Jonathan and AGC on this project. Scott and Jimmy are terrific writers and have conceived of the perfect sci fi tentpole that fits perfectly into ASAP’s brand and my directing sensibilities. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get going on Universe’s Most Wanted. This is the type of fun mysterious and irreverent adventure we all need right now.

Brad Peyton will be producing under his production company ASAP Entertainment alongside Jeff Fierson, as well as Dave Bautista under his production company Dream Bros Entertainment alongside Jonathan Meisner. The screenplay is written by F. Scott Frazier and Jimmy Loweree. AGC Studios and CAA Media Finance will be launching worldwide sales on the project in the coming weeks of the virtual American Film Market.

Production is set to take place for Universe’s Most Wanted during spring next year.
