Orphan First Kill: Rossif Sutherland Joins Cast For Horror Prequel

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Rossif Sutherland is the latest name to join the cast for the upcoming prequel to the 2009 film Orphan titled Orphan: First Kill.

Orphan: First Kill sees Leena Klammer orchestrate a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as ‘Esther’ comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.

The report doesn’t state what role Rossif Sutherland (whose credits include A Call To Spy and Possessor Uncut) will be playing in the film. He’ll join recently cast Isabelle Fuhrman and Julia Stiles.

Isabelle Fuhrman will also serve as associate producer on the project, which is written by David Coggeshall and being directed by William Brent Bell. Dark Castle Entertainment’s Alex Mace, Hal Sadoff and Ethan Erwin are producing the project alongside James Tomlinson, with the original film’s screenwriter, David Leslie Johnson, serving as executive producer alongside Jen Gorton. Josie Liang will oversee the film for Entertainment One, who are mounting production with Dark Castle.
