The Morning Show: Hasan Minhaj Lands Recurring Role For Season 2

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Hasan Minhaj has signed up for a major recurring role for the upcoming second season of Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show.

The premise for the first season of the series is as follows:

Alex Levy anchors The Morning Show, a popular breakfast news program broadcast from Manhattan on the UBA network that has excellent viewership ratings and is perceived to have changed the face of American television. After her on-air partner of 15 years, Mitch Kessler, is fired amidst a sexual misconduct scandal, Alex fights to retain her job as top news anchor while sparking a rivalry with Bradley Jackson, a haphazard field reporter whose series of impulsive decisions bring her into a new world of TV journalism.

Hasan Minhaj (whose acting credits include Rough Night and The Spy Who Dumped Me) will be playing the role of Eric, a charismatic, rising star who joins The Morning Show team. The writer-comedian is mostly known for his Peabody-award winning Netflix show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj. Minhaj will be joining newcomers Greta Lee and Ruairi O’Connor for the upcoming second season.

The Morning Show also stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nester Carbonell, Bel Powley, Karen Pittman and Desean Terry.
