Netflix have released the official trailer for the upcoming third season of Cobra Kai.
The series is a sequel to that of The Karate Kid original, set thirty years after the evens of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where we find a down and out Johnny Lawrence who, seeking redemption, reopens the infamous Cobra Kai dojo. It reignites his rivalry with a new-successful Daniel LaRusso, who has been struggling to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of his mentor Mr. Miyagi.
The official synopsis for the third season is as follows:
Season Three finds everyone reeling in the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos, which has left Miguel in a precarious condition. While Daniel searches for answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei hangs in the balance.
If you’ve been following the series since its YouTube days, we’ve been waiting a long while for the third season to come round and thanks to the pickup at Netflix, the wait is almost over and the trailer definitely got me hyped up for the third season, between the Johnny and Daniel team-up to finally take down Kreese, as well as the reveal that Yuji Okumoto is reprising the role of Chozen Toguchi.
The series stars William Zabka, Ralph Macchio, Martin Kove, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Hannah Kepple, Nichole Brown, Griffin Santopietro, Vanessa Rubio, Gianni Decenzo and Peyton List.
Cobra Kai season 3 will become available on the streaming service on the 8th January 2021.
