While it was reported earlier in the year that comedy series It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia was renewed for a fifteenth season, at the Disney Investors Day presentation FX Chairman, John Landgraf, announced that the series is renewed for an additional sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth season.
The series, which started in 2005, focuses on five narcissists with big egos and slightly arrogant attitudes are the proprietors of an Irish pub in Philadelphia.
At the start of the year at the Television Critics Association, creator, star and executive producer Rob McElhenney reassured fans of the comedy series that “we’re going to keep doing it forever if people keep watching.” The series had already broken the record for longest-running live-action comedy (record originally held by Ozzie & Harriet) when it was renewed for a fifteenth season and looks set to extend that for some time.
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia stars Charlie Day, Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito.
