Heels: David James Elliott And Joel Murray Join Cast For Wrestling Drama Series At Starz

Deadline is reporting that David James Elliott and Joel Murray are the latest names to join the cast of wrestling drama series Heels at Starz.

Heels will be set in a close-knit Georgia community, focusing on a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals, Jack and Ace Spade, war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy, the face, and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to (and just as hard to leave behind).

David James Elliott (whose credits include Jag and Spinning Out) will be playing the recurring role of Tom Spade, a former wrestler and proprietor of the Duffy Wrestling League. He’s the father of Jack and Ace, husband to Carol, and a devoted entrepreneur who built a business that provided opportunities for countless aspiring wrestlers from all over the country. Joel Murray (whose credits include Mad Men and Shrink) will be playing the role of Eddie Earl, a local proprietor and sponsor to the Duffy Wrestling League, and one of the most successful and determined men in town.

The eight-episode series is being written by Michael Waldron, with Mike O’Malley serving as showrunner with the pair serving also as executive producers alongside LBI Entertainment’s Julie Yorn, Chris Donnelly and Patrick Walmsley.
