Deadline is exclusively reporting that Josh Hartnett is the latest name to join the cast of Guy Ritchie’s spy thriller Five Eyes.
The film follows a MI6 guns-and-steel agent who is recruited by global intelligence alliance ‘Five Eyes’ to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order. Reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert, Fortune sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker.
The report doesn’t state what role Josh Hartnett (whose credits include Penny Dreadful and Paradise Lost) will be playing in the film.
The film is written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, with revisions by Guy Ritchie, who will also serve as producer on the project. Ivan Atkinson will also serve as producer alongside Bill Block for Miramax. Miramax will be financing and producing the project with STXfilms, who is handling worldwide distribution and sales.
Josh Hartnett joins a cast that includes Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza and Cary Elwes.
