Deadline is reporting that Ray Liotta is the latest name to join the cast of the limited series adaptation of James Keene and Hillel Levin’s true crime memoir, In With The Devil, at Apple TV+.
The six-episode limited series is told through the lens of an intimate relationship between two prisoners, exploring the lengths that people will go to in order to seek redemption, if true absolution is ever really possible, and if so, at what costs.
Ray Liotta (whose recent credits include Shades of Blue Marriage Story) will be playing the role of James’ father, also named James Keene and known as Big Jim, a popular former ranking officer in the Kankakee police and fire departments who had influential friends in the highest reaches of state and local government. After Keene Jr.’s arrest, narcotics detectives tried to get him to divulge damaging information about his father, which he refused to do.
The six-hour adaptation is being written by Dennis Lehane, with Michael R. Roskam attached to direct. Apple Studios will be producing alongside Dennis Lehane, Taron Egerton and Michael R. Roskam, with Imperative Entertainment’s Bradley Thomas and Dan Friedkin will serve as executive producers alongside Richard Plepler, Ryan Friedkin, Emjay Productions’ Scott Lamber and Alexandra Milchan, Kary Antholis and James Keene.
