The Last Of Us: Gabriel Luna Joins Cast For Series Adaptation At HBO

Variety is reporting that Gabriel Luna is the latest name to join the cast of HBO’s series adaptation of the popular video game franchise The Last Of Us.

The Last Of Us is set twenty years after modern civilisation has been destroyed by a sickness that renders victims dangerous, blood-thirsty mutants. Hardened survivor Joel is hired to smuggle Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, breathtaking journey as the unlikely duo depends on each other for survival.

Gabriel Luna (whose credits include Agents of Shield and Terminator: Dark Fate) will be playing the role of Tommy, Joel’s younger brother and a former soldier who hasn’t lost his sense of idealism and hope for a better world.

The series is being written by Chernobyl limited series creator Craig Mazin, and will also serve as executive producer alongside Neil Druckmann, writer and creative director of the video game franchise, and Kantemir Balagov will direct the pilot.

Gabriel Luna will star alongside Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
