Media outlets are reporting ABC have renewed crime drama series Big Sky for a second season.
The official synopsis for the series is as follows:
Private detectives Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt join forces with his estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken.
The series is based on C.J Box’s book series The Highway, developed into a television series by David E. Kelley. While Kelley will be involved creatively and remain as executive producer on the second season, he’s stepping down from showrunning duties, with Elwood Reid, who joined as executive producer in the second half of this first season, stepping us as showrunner for season two.
The renewal comes with the series having a few episodes remaining in its first season, with the finale airing in a few weeks. Big Sky stars Katheryn Winnick, Kylie Bunbury, Brian Geraghty, Valerie Mahaffey, Dedee Pfeiffer, Natalie Alyn Lind, Jesse James Keitel, Jade Pettyjohn, John Carroll Lynch, Ryan Phillippe and Ted Levine.
