Deadline is exclusively reporting that Nathalie Emmanuel and Garrett Hedlund are set to star in Screen Gems’ horror thriller The Bride.

The film is said to be inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula, telling the story of a young woman who is courted and swept off her feet, only to realise a gothic conspiracy is afoot.

The report states that executives appear to be excited about the project, particularly seeing it as a potential franchise, as the studio fast-track the film for an end-of-summer production start.

The film is written by Blair Butler, based on her pitch, with revisions by Jessica M. Thompson, who will also direct the film. Emile Gladstone will serve as producer on the project.
