ABC have released the first look teaser for the reboot coming-of-age series The Wonder Years.

The series, inspired by the 1988-1993 series of the same name, is set in the late 1960’s that takes a nostalgic look at a Black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama through the point of view of imaginative twelve-year-old Dean Williams. With the wisdom of his adult years, Dean’s hopeful and humorous recollections show how his family found their ‘wonder years’ in a turbulent time.

Saladin Patterson is the creator and writer of the series, as well as executive producer alongside Lee Daniels and Marc Velez of Lee Daniels Entertainment and original series star Fred Savage, who also directed the pilot. The series is produced by 20th Television.

The Wonder Years stars Elisa ‘EJ’ Williams, Dulé Hill, Saycon Sengbloh, Laura Kariuki, Julian Lerner, Amari O’Neil, Milan Ray and Don Cheadle, who will be narrating the series as the adult Dean Williams.
