Reacher: Bruce McGill, Maria Sten And Hugh Thompson Join Cast For Jack Reacher Series At Amazon

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Bruce McGill, Maria Sten and Hugh Thompson are the latest names to join the cast of Reacher, the Amazon series based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novel series.

The novel series focuses on Jack Reacher, former major in the United States Army Military Police Corps, roaming the United States, taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations.

The first season will be based on the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor, which is set in Georgia. The character has appeared in multiple novels since the late 90’s, and has had two films, one in 2012 (Jack Reacher) and it’s 2016 sequel (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back), with Tom Cruise as the title character.

Bruce McGill (whose recent credits include The Crew and The I-Land) will be playing the role of Mayor Teale, the distinguished mayor of Margrave, who comes from a long line of Southern gentlemen who have run Margrave for a decade. Maria Sten (whose recent credits include Swamp Thing and Channel Zero) will be playing the role of irreverent Frances Neagley, who formerly worked under Reacher as an Army MP and now is a private investigator, and Reacher’s best friend. Hugh Thompson (whose recent credits include Diggstown and Chapelwaite) will be playing the role of Baker, the head cop of Margrave, who enjoys his position of power but hates Detective Finlay.

The first season will be written and executive produced by Nick Santora, who will also serve as showrunner. Also serving as executive producers are David Ellison and Dana Goldberg for Skydance TV, Lee Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Marcy Ross and Christopher McQuarrie. Carolyn Harris will oversee the series for Skydance Television, which produces the series with Amazon Studios and Paramount TV Studios.

The new additions join a cast that includes Alan Ritchson, Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald and Chris Webster.
