Deadline is exclusively reporting that Jake Lacy and Krysta Rodriguez have been cast as leads, with Ally Maki, Caleb Hearon and Rachel Pegram also cast in the TBS romantic-comedy pilot Space.
The pilot follows Rob and Marin, a long-term couple on the verge of a break-up who are granted the ultimate space to figure out their future when they suddenly begin jumping into the bodies of other couples. Rob is a nice guy everyone loves to get a beer with but who has no idea what he wants. Marin is his lovably eager girlfriend who hasn’t yet accepted she’s an adult. Their relationship’s reckoning happens during their friend Priscilla’s wedding, after Priscilla fights off intense cold feet to dive into commitment, causing their other friends Jesse and Hannah to question Rob and Marin’s chronic avoidance of marriage.
Jake Lacy (whose credits include High Fidelity and Mrs. America) will be playing the role of Rob, Krysta Rodriguez (whose credits include Daybreak and Halston) will be playing the role of Marin, Ally Maki (whose credits include Wrecked and Cloack & Dagger) will be playing the role of Priscilla, Caleb Hearon (whose credits include Fargo and Work in Progress) will be playing the role of Jesse, and Rachel Pegram (whose credits include Love Life and Helpsters) will be playing the role of Hannah.
The pilot is written by Hilary Winston, with Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul attached to direct. The trio are also serving as executive producers alongside Nick Stoller of Stoller Global Solutions. Sony Pictures Television are also producing the pilot. Production on the pilot is scheduled to commence in Portland this coming June.
