Deadline is exclusively reporting that Moses Ingram is the latest name to join the cast of TriStar Pictures’ Whitney Houston biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Last year the studio acquired the rights to the project, which will focus on the life and music of Whitney Houston. The project is formed by The Whitney Houston Estate, Primary Wave and Grammy-winning music producer and Whitney Houston’s mentor Clive Davis.

Moses Ingram (whose credits include The Queen’s Gambit and the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi) will be playing the role of Houston’s longtime assistant Robyn Crawford, who later became her creative director and remaining one of her closest friends until the singer’s tragic passing.

Ingram will star alongside Naomi Ackie, with Stella Meghie directing. Anthony McCarten will be producing alongside Pat Houston on behalf of the Houston Estate, Clive Davis, Larry Mestel on behalf of Primary Wave Music, Denis O’Sullivan and Jeff Kalligheri.
