The Lord Of The Rings: Charles Edwards, Will Fletcher, Amelie Child-Villiers And Beau Cassidy Join Cast For Amazon Series

The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Charles Edwards, Will Fletcher, Amelie Child-Villiers and Beau Cassidy are the latest names for Amazon’s upcoming epic fantasy series adaptation of The Lord Of The Rings.

.

The series is set to explore the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-Earth’s history. Being set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings, the series will feature an ensemble of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-Earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

.

J.D Payne and Patrick McKay are executive producers and showrunners on the series, with J.A Bayona directing the first two episodes and serving as executive producer alongside creative partner Belén Atienza, as well as Lindsey Weber, Bruce Richmond, Callum Greene, Gennifer Hutchison, Jason Cahill, Justin Doble and Sharon Tal Yguado.
