Dexter: Jennifer Carpenter Returning As Debra Morgan For Revival Series

In an interview with Deadline, John Lithgow seemed to all but confirm that Jennifer Carpenter will be reprising the role of Debra Morgan in the upcoming revival series of Dexter.

The original series followed Dexter Morgan, who leads a double life as a forensic analyst and blood-splatter expert at the Miami Metro Police Department as well as being a serial killer who only kills criminals that slip through the criminal justice system. The revival series picks up ten years after Dexter Morgan went missing the eye of Hurricane Laura, now living in Upstate New York.

Lithgow was asked questions in regards to how his character, Arthur Mitchell aka the Trinity Killer, would be returning in the revival series, Lithgow said:

As all Dexter fans know, we saw the end of the Trinity Killer, so that by definition means it’s a flashback. It was just wonderful to rejoin that gang—including Michael and Jennifer Carpenter and Clyde Phillips.

Jennifer Carpenter hasn’t been officially confirmed as of yet by Showtime, as TVLine state in their report that they have declined to comment on Lithgow’s comments, but have also pointed out that Carpenter casually seemed to tease a return, with a photo on her instagram being on a set.

Clyde Phillips, the original series showrunner, returns as showrunner for the revival series, with Michael C. Hall also starring and executive producing the series alongside Phillips, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Bill Carraro and Scott Reynolds.
