The Last Of Us: Jeffrey Pierce, Murray Bartlett And Con O’Neill Join Cast For Series Adaptation At HBO

Deadline is exclusively reporting that Jeffrey Pierce, Murray Bartlett and Con O’Neill are the latest names to join the cast of HBO’s series adaptation of the popular video game franchise The Last Of Us.

The Last Of Us is set twenty years after modern civilisation has been destroyed by a sickness that renders victims dangerous, blood-thirsty mutants. Hardened survivor Joel is hired to smuggle Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, breathtaking journey as the unlikely duo depends on each other for survival.

Jeffrey Pierce, who voiced Tommy in The Last of Us video game series, will be playing the recurring role of Perry, a rebel in a quarantine zone. Murray Bartlett (whose credits include Tales of the City and The White Lotus) will have a guest role as Frank, while Con O’Neill (whose credits include The Tunnel and Chernobyl) will have a guest role as Bill, two post-pandemic survivalists living alone in their isolated town.

The series is being written by Chernobyl limited series creator Craig Mazin, and will also serve as executive producer alongside Neil Druckmann, writer and creative director of the video game franchise, and Kantemir Balagov will direct the pilot.

The new additions join a cast that includes Pedro PascalBella RamseyGabriel LunaMerle Dandridge and Nico Parker.
