The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting that Hayden Christensen will be reprising the role of Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader, for the upcoming Disney+ series Ahsoka.
The series focuses on Ahsoka Tano. Debuting in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano was the Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, then appearing as a lead character in the Clone Wars animated series and also appeared in Star Wars Rebels, with the character voiced by Ashley Eckstein. The character then made their live-action debut in the second season of The Mandalorian, portrayed by Rosario Dawson, who will be continuing to play the character in the upcoming series.
It’s currently not known how Christensen will be playing the character, considering that The Madalorian universe is set after the events of Return of the Jedi, whether he will appear in flashbacks or whether he will appear in the present time as a Force Ghost.
Ahsoka is being written by Dave Filoni, who will also serve as executive producer alongside Jon Favreau. Production is scheduled to commence in early 2022.
