Deadline is exclusively reporting that Tracy Perez has signed up for a recurring role for the upcoming second season of the Power spinoff series Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan, is a prequel series set in the 1990’s that will chronicle the early years of Kanan Stark, whose world revolves around his mother Raq, who raised him by herself. She is his everything. At the same time, he is beginning to get a sense of not only the world around him but his place in said world. Kanan wants to be just like his mother…and that’s the problem. He’s young and wide-eyed and doesn’t know how the hustle works. And even more important, his mother is not nearly as keen as he is for him to follow in her footsteps. Theirs is a complicated relationship that only gets more problematic as time goes on.

Tracy Perez (whose credits include Animal Kingdom and East Los High) will be playing the role of Detective Adina Foyle, Detective Burke’s ex-girlfriend who is making a comeback as her new girlfriend. KJ Smith also recently joined the cast for season 2.

Series creator, Sascha Penn, will continue to be showrunner on the second season, whilst also executive producing alongside franchise creator Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Mark Canton of Atmosphere Entertainment, Chris Selak of End of Episode, Shana Stein, Bart Wenrich and Kevin Fox.

The first season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan stars Omar Epps, Patina Miller, Mekai Curtis, Hailey Kilgore, Lovie Simone, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Shanley Caswell, Toby Sandeman, Joey Bada$$, Quincy Brown, Ade Chike Torbert, Natalee Linez and Annabelle Zasowski.
