Warner Bros. have released the latest trailer for the upcoming sci-fi film The Matrix Resurrections.

The official synopsis for the film is as follows:

In The Matrix Resurrections, return to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it. To find out if his reality is a physical or mental construct, to truly know himself, Mr. Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. And if Thomas…Neo…has learned anything, it’s that choice, while an illusion, is still the only way out of—or into— the Matrix. Of course, Neo already knows what he has to do. But what he doesn’t yet know is the Matrix is stronger, more secure and more dangerous than ever before. Déjà vu.

The film is directed by Lana Wachowski, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell, and stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Eréndira Ibarra, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith and Daniel Bernhardt.

The Matrix Resurrections is scheduled for cinematic release on the 22nd December 2021, as well as having same day release on HBO Max where it’s available.
