Hell Or High Water: TV Series Adaptation In Development At Fox

Variety is exclusively reporting that a series adaptation of the 2016 film Hell Or High Water is in development at Fox.

Set in West Texas, the film focuses on divorced father Toby Howard and his ex-con older Brother Tanner carrying out early morning robberies at two branches of the Texas Midlands Banks, as they look to get as much money as possible to pay off a the debt of a reverse mortgage on the family ranch, which was provided by the Texas Midlands Bank, within the next few days or else the ranch will be foreclosed. On their case however are two Texas Rangers, Marcus Hamilton and Alberto Parker, with Hamilton nearing retirement and he quickly determines the brother’s methods and personalities, figuring out what the their next bank robbery will be and catch them in the act.

The logline for the potential series is as follows: When a ruthless oil tycoon attempts to plunder a West Texas ranching community, two local brothers dodge a zealous Texas Ranger and fight to keep what’s theirs, one bank robbery at a time, come hell or high water.

The report states that the project is being developed as a one-hour drama, with a script received as well as additional material to series order at Fox. Jessica Mecklenburg will write and executive produce the potential series. Also executive producing are Sidney Kimmel, John Penotti, Charlie Corwin, Marcy Ross of SK Global, Gigi Pritzker and Rachel Shane of Madison Wells, Julie Yorn and Carla Hacken. SK Global will be producing alongside Fox Entertainment.

The original film was written by Taylor Sheridan, directed by David Mackenzie, and starred Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham.
