Deadline is reporting that Isabella Laughland, Kulvinder Ghir, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, Ella-Rae Smith, Dimitri Leonidas, Ben Daniels, Holt McCallany, Mikael Persbrandt, Rachel House and Nimrat Kaur will be joining the cast for the upcoming second season of Apple TV+ sci-fi drama series Foundation.

.

The synopsis for the series is as follows:

When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon predicts the impending fall of the Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilisation. Enraged by Hari’s claims, the ruling Cleons — a long line of emperor clones — fear their grasp on the galaxy may be weakening as they’re forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their legacy forever.

.

Isabella Laughland (whose credits include Trigonometry and Anne Boleyn) will be playing the role of Brother Constant, a cheerfully confident claric whose job is to evangelize the Church of the Galactic Spirit across the Outer Reach. Constant is a true believer, whose courage and passion make her hard not to love.

.

Kulvinder Ghir (whose credits include Blinded By The Light and Hilda) will be playing the role of Poly Verisof, High Claric of the Church of the Galactic Spirit. Whip-smart and sardonic, he’s also a terrible drunk — intelligent enough to see the path he’s on, but too cynical to change.

.

Sandra Yi Sencindiver (whose credits include The Wheel of Time and The Bridge) will be playing the role of Enjoiner Rue, the beautiful, politically savvy consigliere to Queen Sareth. A former courtesan to Cleon the 16th, Rue parlayed her status to become a royal counsellor.

.

Ella-Rae Smith (whose credits include Seance and Sweetheart) will be playing the role of Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion. Used to being underestimated, Sareth employs it to her advantage, charming her way into the Imperial Palace with biting wit, all while on a secret quest for revenge.

.

Dimitri Leonidas (whose credits include Riviera and The One) will be playing the role of Hober Mallow, a master trader with a sarcastic personality and questionable morals, who is summoned against his will to serve a higher, selfless cause.

Ben Daniels (whose credits include Jupiter’s Legacy and The Crown) will be playing the role of Bel Roise, the last great general of the Superliminal Fleet and would-be conqueror of the Foundation. Bel is noble to a fault, but his fealty to the Galactic Empire is waning.

.

Holt McCallany (whose credits include Mindhunter and Wrath of Man) will be playing the role of Warden Jaegger Fount, the current Warden of Terminus and guardian of its citizens against external threats.

.

Mikael Persbrandt (whose credits include Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga and Sex Education) will be playing the role of The Warlord of Kalgan, a monster of a man, coiled with muscle and possessing powerful psychic abilities, and fuelled by hate in his quest to take over the galaxy.

.

Rachel House (whose credits include Soul and Cowboy Bebop) will be playing the role of Tellem Bond, mysterious leader of the Mentallics.

.

Nimrat Kaur (whose credits include Wayward Pines and Homeland) will be playing the role of Yanna Seldon.

.

The series is based on Isaac Asimov’s trilogy of novels, with David S. Goyer serving as showrunner and executive producer. Also serving as executive producers are Robyn Asimov, Alex Graves, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost.

.

The new additions will join Lee Pace, Jared Harris, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann and Cassian Bilton for the upcoming second season of Foundation.
