Variety is exclusively reporting that Amber Heard, Eduardo Noriega and Lorenzo McGovern Zaini are set to star in the supernatural thriller In The Fire, which will be directed by Conor Allyn.

Set on a farm in 1890’s Colombia, a couple with a young autistic son have to face both the villagers and the local priest who worry the boy is possessed by demonic forces and is the reason for all the village’s woes. After the death of his wife, Don Marquez brings in Grace Victoria Burnham, an American psychiatrist to find out what is ailing the boy.

Amber Heard (whose recent credits include The Stand and Zack Snyder’s Justice League) will be playing the role of Grace Victoria Burnham, Eduardo Noriega (whose recent credits include Mark of the Devil and Hache) will be playing the role of Don Marquez, and Lorenzo McGovern Zaini (whose credits include American Night and Christmas Thieves) will be playing the young boy.

Andrea Iervolino, producer on the project, released a statement saying:

The film is written by Conor Allyn, Pascal Borno and Silvio Muraglia, with Borno and Muraglia producing alongside Iervolino, Monika Bacardi and Alain Gillissen. Dinamo Film will be executive producing, while Angel Oak Films, Paradox Studios and ILBE will be producing also. The shoot will commence in Italy, with principal photography set to start in Italy’s Apulia region on the 21st February.

Angel Oak Films are selling the project at the upcoming EFM, though it has already struck a deal worth $1.5m with Saban Film for multiple territories includes the US, Canada, UK, Australia, France and Germany.
