Deadline is exclusively reporting that Brett Gray, Kara Young, Allius Barnes, Olivia Washington, Mike Epps and Carmen Ejogo have signed up for series regular roles and will star opposite Jharrel Jerome in Boots Riley's upcoming dark comedy series I'm A Virgo.

The series is described as a radical coming-of-age joyride about a thirteen-foot-tall young black man named Cootie who lives in Oakland, California.

About the principal casting for the series, Boots Riley had this to say:

Our cast is hard as hell. Our cast slaps everyone else’s cast around on the playground. Sorry. I’ve spoken with the principal about this and there’s nothing more I can do.

While character descriptions have not been released, the report states that they believe Brett Gray will be playing Felix, Cootie’s best friend, while they hear that Allius Barnes will play Scat, who grew up with Felix and Cootie. They also hear that Kara Young will play community organiser Jones, Olivia Washington will play aspiring cook Flora, while Mike Epps will play Martisse and Carmen Ejogo will play Lafrancine.
