Deadline is exclusively reporting that Alia Bhatt is the latest name to join the cast of the Netflix and Skydance spy thriller Heart of Stone.

While plot details are still being kept under wraps, the project has been eyed as a potential franchise from Skydance, with Netflix acquiring the project in January 2021 and is now seen as a high priority for the studio.

Like the plot, Alia Bhatt’s role is also being kept under wraps, but this role will mark the Bollywood star’s English-language debut in a major studio film. Her credits include Sadak 2 and Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Tom Harper is directing, with the screenplay written by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. Skydance Media’s David Ellison is producing the project alongside Dana Goldberg and Don Granger, alongside Gal Gadot and her Pilot Wave producing partner Jaron Varsano, Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn.
