HBO Max have released the official trailer for the upcoming limited series The Staircase.

The official synopsis for the limited series is as follows:

Based on a true story, The Staircase explores the life of Michael Peterson, his sprawling North Carolina family, and the suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson.

The eight-episode series is created by Antonio Campos and stars Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Rosemarie DeWitt, Juliette Binoche, Parker Posey, Cullen Moss, Sophie Turner, Odessa Young, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Dane DeHaan, Olivia DeJonge, Michael Stuhlbarg, Tim Guinee, Joel McKinnon Miller, Vincent Vermignon, Frank Feys, Justice Leak, Robert Crayton and Jim Rash.
