20th Century Studios have released the teaser trailer for the long-awaited Avatar sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.

The official synopsis for the film is as follows:

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family, the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

The film is directed by James Cameron and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, CCH Pounder, Jamie Flatters, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Bailey Bass, Filip Gelijo, Duane Evans Jr., Kate Winslet, Jack Champion, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Brendan Cowell, Jemaine Clement, Michelle Yeoh and Edie Falco.
