Deadline is exclusively reporting that the latest Prime Video-Blumhouse Television collaboration, the horror comedy Totally Killer, has begun production this weekend and it will star Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, Julie Bowen and Randall Park.

The film follows Jamie whose mother, Pam, is terrorised by the the resurgence of the Sweet Sixteen Killer – a masked maniac that slaughtered a group of teenage girls in the 80’s. With the help of her friend Amelia, Jame travels back in time to 1987 and teams up with the teen version of her mother to try and stop the killer.

Kiernan Shipka (whose credits include Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Riverdale) will be playing the role of Jamie, Olivia Holt (whose credits include Cruel Summer and Cloak and Dagger) will be playing the teen version of Pam, while Julie Bowen (whose credits include Modern Family and The Fallout) will be playing Jamie’s mother.

Also among the cast are Lochlyn Munro, Charlie Gillespie, Stephi Chin-Salvo, Anna Diaz, Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson, Ella Choi, Kelcey Mawema, Liana Liberato, Nathaniel Appiah and Jonathan Potts.

Nahnatchka Khan, who is directing the film, released a statement saying:

The idea of a horror-comedy time-travel movie is, I’m gonna be honest, something I never thought of in my life. So when I was approached by the amazing creatives at Blumhouse and Amazon about Totally Killer, it was just so unique and exciting I had to be involved. And then add this incredible cast on top of that? Everybody get readyyyyyyy.

The script is written by Jen D’Angelo, based on an original script by David Matalon and Sasha Perl-Raver. Jason Blum will serve as producer alongside Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath. Khan will serve as executive producer alongside Chloe Yellin, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold and Brian Parker.
