The CW have released the season trailer for the upcoming DC drama series Gotham Knights.
.
The official synopsis for the series is as follows:
Batman is dead, and a powder keg has ignited Gotham City without the Dark Knight to protect it. In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his adopted son Turner Hayes is framed for killing the Caped Crusader, along with the children of some of Batman’s enemies.
Said offspring include Duela, an unpredictable fighter and skilled thief who was born in Arkham Asylum and abandoned by her father; Harper Row, a streetwise and acerbic engineer who can fix anything, and her brother Cullen, a clever transgender teen who is tired of being polite and agreeable.
With the charismatic and hard-charging District Attorney Harvey Dent and the GCPD hot on their trail, Turner will rely on allies including his best friend and formidable coder Stephanie Brown, and unlikely Batman sidekick Carrie Kelley. But they will soon learn that there is a larger, more nefarious force at work within Gotham City. This team of mismatched fugitives must band together to become its next generation of saviours known as… the Gotham Knights.
.
As first impressions go, it’s absolutely not winning me over with this trailer and while some creative choices are made here that raise a few eyebrows, I question who the series is trying to aim at? Still, I’ll give it a fair crack whenever it premieres next year.

Gotham Knights was recently given a series order at the CW Network. The series is written by Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux, and Natalie Abrams, and stars Oscar Morgan, Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Robinson, Fallon Smythe, Tyler DiChiara, Stephanie Brown, Rahart Adams and Misha Collins.
