Night Sky: Sci-Fi Series Cancelled After One Season At Amazon

Media outlets are reporting that Amazon have cancelled sci-fi series Night Sky after one season.

The official synopsis for the series is as follows:

Spanning  space and time, Night Sky follows Irene and Franklin York, a couple who, years ago, discovered a chamber buried in their backyard which inexplicably leads to a strange, deserted planet. They’ve carefully guarded their secret ever since, but when an enigmatic young man enters their lives, the Yorks’ quiet existence is quickly upended…and the mystifying chamber they thought they knew so well turns out to be much more than they could ever have imagined.

The cancellation comes over a month after the release of all eight episodes of season one on Amazon Prime back on the 20th May. The reports state that while the show received largely positive reviews, it unfortunately did not obtain significant viewership to help it carry its sizeable costs to cover its sci-fi content for another season.

Night Sky, created by Holden Miller, starred J.K. Simmons, Sissy Spacek, Chai Hansen, Kiah McKirnan, Julieta Zylberberg, Rocío Hernández and Adam Bartley.
